May Fourth Square is one of Qingdao's iconic landmarks. Situated on Donghai West Road in Shinan District, it overlooks Fushan Bay to the south. This contemporary square features a harmonious blend of grassy lawns, decorative fountains, and striking sculptures.
Qingdao Olympic Sailing Centre is located on the shore of Fushan Bay and served as the venue for the sailing competitions of the 29th Olympic Games. At night, the Sailing Centre takes on a particularly enchanting atmosphere. Visitors can take a boat cruise along the bay, enjoy the dazzling light show, and experience the romantic seaside nightscape of Qingdao.
Taiping Cape – one of the most beautiful capes along Qingdao's coastline. On the landward side, buildings along twelve streets each have their own distinctive character. The cape is surrounded by the sea on three sides and features Taiping Cape Park. Along Taipingjiao First Road, dozens of cafes are clustered by the sea, including Yimei Luowei, Monet Garden, Reef, Sòf Coffee, and others. Daxue Road is an old street brimming with an artistic atmosphere, lined with specialty cafés and Western restaurants, while preserving historic buildings and a bohemian cultural vibe.
Signal Hill – originally named "Big Stone Hill" due to the numerous granite boulders scattered across the mountain. In 1897, after Germany occupied Qingdao, a signal station and a radio station were built on the summit to direct ships entering and leaving Jiaozhou Bay, hence the name "Signal Hill." Today, Qingdao Signal Hill Park is located in the heart of the old town of Shinan District, Qingdao (at the intersection of Longshan Road and Qidong Road). Rising 98 meters above sea level, it serves as a central landmark of Qingdao's historic district and offers a spectacular vantage point for viewing the city's iconic scenery of "red roofs, green trees, blue sea, and clear skies."
Xiaoyushan Park is a classical-style hilltop garden park – small yet exquisite, with a winding footpath leading straight to the summit. Inside the Lanchao Pavilion, there are multi‑level 360‑degree observation decks, offering views of Qingdao's scenic beauty in all four directions, each with its own distinctive charm.
Zhongshan Road was first built in 1898 and stretches over 1,500 meters in length. It is one of the earliest planned and constructed roads in Qingdao. As the core street of the old town, Zhongshan Road has witnessed the changes of history and stands as a symbol of the city's renewal.
Zhanqiao Pier is a symbol of Qingdao and a century‑old landmark. It is 440 meters long and 8 meters wide. At its southern end, a semicircular breakwater has been built, within which stands a two‑story octagonal pavilion in traditional Chinese style, named Huilan Pavilion.
